Product Description

Power Magnetronics make magnetic drum pulley operates as head pulley on belt conveyors. It is specially designed for removing both large and small pieces of iron contaminants from product streams. It is powerful enough to remove tramp iron from heavy flows of bulk materials including bulk and abrasive material. These low cost, self-cleaning magnets remove tramp iron and purify materials conveyed in bulk forms. When Material carried on conveyor enters the magnetic field surrounding the magnetic drum pulley, pieces of ferrous metal in the material are attached to the belt. They are held magnetically against the belt until carried to the other side of the pulley, where the belts take them away from the magnetic field to be discharged. Non-magnetic material falls away from the pulley in normal operation. This cycle of separation is continuous and automatically working. 

Magnetic drum pulleys are used to protect processing machinery from damaging tramp metal, eliminate ferrous contaminants from products, concentrate magnetic minerals in mining ores, and remove steel from recyclable material. In many applications, it’s possible to replace an existing head Pulley with Power Magnetronics make magnetic drum pulley, on a size to size basis.  

Working principle

A magnetic drum pulley is a head roller that is filled with magnets. This roller generates a magnetic system with a correspondingly rotating magnetic field that is active around the entire system. The magnetic field attracts ferromagnetic metal particles in product flow, and the conveyor belt that runs over the roller carries these particles with it to the underside of the roller. When they are no longer in range of the magnetic field they do free fall off the belt, where they are collected and carried away.  

The advantage of a magnetic drum pulley is that is in continuous operation, so there is no need to stop the product flow to carry out the separated metal particles. This makes the magnetic drum pulley very suitable for product flows with lots of Fe particles. 

Types

We can design magnetic drum pulley in 4”, 6”, 8”, 10”, 12”, 15”, 18”, 24” and 30” diameters sizes and in widths from 4” up to 72” wide. We can offer magnetic drum pulley in various power range which is mentioned below; 

  • Low Power: For general use with burden depths up to 50mm. Belt speeds to 1.8m/s. Good for secondary Clean up of misc. tramp iron and fines.
  • Medium Power: For general use with burden depths up to 75mm. Belt speeds to 2m/s. Used in Construction & Demolition and Material Recovery Facility.
  • High Power: For general use with burden depths up to 100mm. Belt speed to 2m/s. Used in Mining, Foundry, and Heavy Duty.
